About Me

It's surprisingly simple: Make art, and you will shift in the direction of healing

ā€‹

These shifts accelerate into transformation when you create with the regular support of a trained art therapist.

WHAT IS ART THERAPY?

It's a method of creating visual art designed to address psychological challenges. The main therapeutic tool is visual rather than verbal. READ MORE Over the course of therapy, a person's artistic journey first reflects - then moves forward - their psychological development.

ā€‹

In art therapy, a person's subconscious issues appear before their eyes. The dialogue with the inner world begins as soon as they draw a line, mix a color, or form a shape.

ā€‹

Creating visually helps people naturally work on the level of symbols and emotion. This brings unusually direct, rich, and spontaneous insights. Bringing discoveries back up to the verbal level integrates them into multiple layers of understanding. This creates a favorable environment for lasting change.

frees people from regular approaches to problem-solving which might have hindered them.

For all ages, from KIDS & TEENS to ADULTS

No skill needed!

Art therapy focuses on the PROCESS of making art, not on the product. It's not an art class. There's no right way to create, just your way.

When you're a new client, I'll invite you to make an art piece as part of an assessment. Later in therapy, you can receive suggestions or choose your own projects and materials.

ADULTS

Inviting creativity into the therapy room helps individuals navigate psychological problems with great honesty and wisdom. An added benefit to the visual focus of art therapy is it often frees adults from verbal and intellectual defenses, which typically flourish with age/socialization/education.

In my practice, I treat adults facing:

KIDS & TEENS

Young people are particularly expressive and intuitive, making art therapy a comfortable, fun, and natural fit. In my practice, making art helps young clients meet and trust their healthy inner guidance, which typically outpaces their verbal and intellectual capacities.

I help kids and teens struggling with:

Family + Relationships

ADHD + Learning

Identity + Self-Esteem

Expat Challenges

I specialize in adolescence, the age of internal and external changes in nearly every aspect of life.
